After water, green tea is one of the most consumed beverages in the world. This is not only because green tea tastes wonderful, but also for its health benefits. Antioxidants are needed to maintain healthy cell structures in your body, it may help in reducing the risk on cancer, risk of a stroke or heart disease and it will even lower your cholesterol.
But what about Acne? First of all, many people already know that putting a hot tea bag on acne will draw some of the toxins out, and will benefit a quicker healing. Now further study, where green tea is mixed into a cream, has shown that after a treatment period of several months significant improvement in the reduction of acne was realized, comparable to treatments with benzoic peroxide which is typically found in acne creams.
These results are great. Why? Well, first of all green tea is a natural product. This means limited side effects. Typical treatments cause some redness or irritation of the skin, which are really very limited with green tea. Also improvements in skin tone and fewer cases of dry skin or any other allergic response was noted.
New studies also show green tea help reducing weight by increasing the metabolism. This is driven by ephedrine and caffeine in the green tea. Each of those components separately have a limited effect on loosing weight, but combined as they are present in green tea or green tea extracts they give a wonderful result. It is not a magic bullet and by itself not sufficient for reducing weight, but green tea should present in any diet by those whole take their weight reduction serious.
